Workflow Numbering
In this article:
Numbering System
Workflow numbers help identify groups of forms related to a particular task or workflow. Setting workflow numbers makes searching for and reporting on specific workflows easier.
Organisation Level | Unique number across the whole Organisation- A new unique number is assigned for each workflow, regardless of Form Category. E.G: Permit workflows are numbered 1, followed by 2 for incidents. The form type isn't considered—examples: PMT1 and INC-2. |
Organisation Level & Form Category | Unique number by Form Category across the whole organisation - A new unique number is assigned to a workflow for each Form Category across the whole organisation. E.G: If the first workflow created is for the Form Category - Permit, it will be assigned #1. The first incident workflow created will also be assigned #1. When using prefixes, this could look like PMT-1; INC-1 |
Site / Job / Project Level | Unique workflow numbering across the whole project/ site. The number assigned for each workflow is unique across the whole site or project regardless of Form Category E.G: When creating workflows, the numbering system goes in sequence based on the type of workflow. The form category is not considered when assigning numbers. Therefore, to differentiate between projects or sites, prefixes can be used. For example, Site 1 might have PMT-1, INC-2, etc., while Site 2 might have INC-1, INC-2, PMT-3. |
Site / Job / Project Level & Form Category Level | Unique workflow numbering by Form Category across the whole project/site. The numbers assigned for each workflow are unique across the Form Category for that project/site. E.G: If the first workflow created is for a Permit it will be numbered #1 at Site 1, if the next workflow is for an Incident at Site 1 it will be assigned #1. The first workflow at Site 2 may be for an Incident and it will be assigned #1. When using prefixes this could look like: Site PMT - 1; INC-1; Site 2: INC -1, INC -2, PMT-1 etc. |
