Kiosk Mode For Tablet - Set Up Guide
Site App Pro Visitor Register and Kiosk feature allows workers and visitors to check into site without needing a login. All they need is a tablet set up in kiosk mode — a locked-down setup prevents users from exiting the check-in screen or switching apps.
This article provides step-by-step instructions for enabling kiosk mode on common construction tablets. You’ll also find links to official setup resources.
Supported Devices and Setup Instructions
1. Apple iPad (10.2”, 10.9”, 12.9”) – iPadOS
Models: iPad 10th Gen, iPad Air, iPad Pro
OS: iPadOS
Popular for ease of use, touchscreen responsiveness, and simple kiosk setup.
How to Enable Guided Access:
- Open Settings > Accessibility
- Tap Guided Access and toggle it on
- Go to Passcode Settings to set a passcode
To Start Guided Access:
- Open the Site App Pro app
- Triple-click the Home or Side button
- Adjust any session settings if needed, then tap Start

2. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro (10.1”) – Android
OS: Android
Rugged and designed for demanding environments, it includes an S Pen for easy form signing.
How to Enable Screen Pinning:
- Open Settings > Biometrics and Security
- Tap Other Security Settings
- Scroll down and enable Pin Windows
To Pin the App:
- Open the Site App Pro app
- Tap the Recent Apps button
- Tap the app's icon and select Pin this app
Note: For more advanced control (e.g. blocking navigation buttons), consider third-party kiosk apps like Scalefusion or SureLock.

3. Zebra ET60/ET65 (10.1”) – Android or Windows
OS: Android 13 / Windows 11
Industrial-grade and purpose-built for harsh construction environments.
How to Set Up Enterprise Home Screen (EHS):
- Download and install Enterprise Home Screen (EHS) from Zebra
- Open the app
- Tap the screen five times to open the admin settings
- Enter the admin password (see Zebra documentation)
- Add allowed apps and lock the device into kiosk mode

4. Microsoft Surface Go 4 (10.5”) – Windows 11
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Business-friendly and works well with dedicated kiosk software.
How to Set Up Assigned Access:
Create a Local User Account:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users
- Click Add someone else to this PC
- Select Add a user without a Microsoft account
- Enter a username and password
Set Up Kiosk Mode:
- In Family & other users, select the new account
- Click Set up assigned access
- Choose the Site App Pro app as the only app allowed
Enable Automatic Sign-In:
- Press Windows + R, type
netplwiz
, and press Enter - Select the kiosk account and uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
- Enter the account credentials to confirm

Currently Not Supported
The following devices are commonly used in industrial environments, but are not currently supported for use with Site App Pro's kiosk feature:
