Introduction to Equipment Tasks & Maintenance

In this article:

Tasks are the heartbeat of keeping your equipment in top shape. Whether it’s maintenance, an inspection, or any other job, Tasks let you assign, schedule, and track the work so it’s done right the first time.

From quick one-off fixes to regular compliance checks, you’ve got all the tools in one place — plus different views to help you zero in on what matters most.

Understanding Task Types

To keep your work organised, Site App Pro breaks tasks down into five types:

  • Maintenance: Scheduled servicing, repairs, and upkeep.
  • Inspection: Routine checks and safety reviews.
  • Corrective Action: Fixes needed after a failed audit, reported hazard, or non-compliance.
  • Compliance: Tasks tied to legal or regulatory requirements (like renewing certificates).
  • Other: Anything else that doesn’t fit the above.

Accessing Task in Admin Console

The Admin Console gives you two main ways to manage equipment tasks, plus some handy dashboards to keep the urgent stuff front and centre.

  1. Task & Maintenance Lists

Under the Equipment tab, you’ll find:

  • Maintenance List: Shows only “Maintenance” tasks — perfect for your workshop manager or maintenance crew to focus on their jobs.
  • Task List: The full list of all equipment-related tasks, no matter the type.

  1. Dashboard Widgets

To help you spot urgent tasks quickly, some important ones show up right on your main dashboard:

  • Maintenance Summary Widget: Shows the top 10 unfinished maintenance tasks so nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Corrective Action Summary Widget: Displays all “Corrective Action” tasks for equipment, plus other corrective actions across your business.
