Using a Repeating Question or Section in a Form

Need to answer a question or group of questions multiple times? Use a Repeating Section or Question.

Sometimes you would like your workers to be able to answer a question, or a group of questions, more than once. For instance, selecting the names of people on-site, or capturing multiple signatures and contact details. In Site App Pro there are options to do this using either repeating questions or a repeating section.

Repeating Question

A repeating question is used to repeat a single question in a form. This means that this question can be filled out as many times as your workers need to fill it out. e.g. repeating a Signature question so your whole team can sign off the form.

To use this follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to the Admin Console (computer side)
  2. Click on the Forms Tab
  3. Either alter an existing form or create a custom form
  4. Click on the question you would like to repeat
  5. At the bottom of the question, toggle on the button that says "Allow multiple answers"

Once you save that form, the question will be able to be filled in repeatedly on the mobile. To use a repeating question:

  1. Answer the question
  2. Click the grey "REPEAT PREVIOUS QUESTION" button
  3. You can now fill in the question again

Repeating Section

A repeating section allows you to repeat a block of several questions e.g. you want multiple team members or visitors to fill in their name, mobile and email on a sign-in form.

To create a repeating section:

  1. Log in to the Admin Console (computer side)
  2. Click on the Forms Tab either alter an existing form or create a custom form
  3. To start a repeating section, use a 'section header'. These can be found in the panel below, or on the side of the form builder. Enter a name for the section in the 'section header', then at the bottom of the 'section header' toggle on the button that says "Allow multiple answers"
  4. Enter questions that you want in the repeated section below the 'section header'
  5. To finish the repeating section, add a new section header to close the repeating section. If you don't, the repeating section will continue to the last question in the form.
  6. If you then want to continue to add questions to the form that don't need to be repeated, you can add them below the closing section header. Once you save that form, the section will be able to be filled in repeatedly on the mobile.
  7. To use a repeating section in a form:

     1. Complete the questions in the form

     2. Click the grey Repeat Previous Section button. You can now fill in the questions in the section again.

    3. A repeating section will repeat everything below it until the next section header or the bottom of a form. This means if your section header is the last set of questions in a form, you do not need to put a section header below it.

    4. The Section Header that you use to end a repeating section can also be used to start a different repeating section.

Note: You can not use a repeating question inside of a repeating section - Things would get crazy very quickly!
